Just got around to watching the episode “Noises Within.” My reaction is related to the volunteer fire departments and structure or wildland fires. We have a saying, “Go ugly, Go early.” It means if a situation looks large or questionable you call the cavalry early, 911. It’s far easier to turn engines and people around enroute if not needed than it is to call them when you need them NOW. Your situation sounded like the homeowner should have had that policy.
My department, North Star Volunteer Fire Department, covers a 110 square mile area south of Fairbanks, Alaska. Love the show.
